This is hungry man food. Simply follow the package directions for stove top preparation. Slice the sausages into 1/4″ slices cut on the bias and heat until the sauce is thickened and the potatoes are fork tender.
Just about any dry packaged potato combination can be used, from Au Gratin to Scalloped; let your imagination loose. The same goes for the sausages. Anything goes, from Polish Kielbasa, Italian, Andoui and Chorizo to old world German — you name it, they all work great. Thick-sliced ham chunks also work well with packaged potato mixes.
For picky eaters that don’t care for the more flavorful or spicy sausages, simply slice your favorite frankfurters or wieners and add them to the pot.
