We purchase perfectly colored oranges but after a few days they sometimes start turning green here and there. Have you ever thought maybe they weren’t ripe?
The process is natural and is called simply, “re-greening.” It occurs when some of the clorophyll migrates back to the surface. But the orange is fully ripe, so don’t toss it out just because it has developed a little tinge of green.
To make peeling a bit easier, first roll an orange (and most citrus) around on a counter top a few times. This will help the skin separate from the segments hidden inside.
