Popcorn is a very popular snack, and like most foods, fresh is best. Here’s a super simple recipe that is ready to serve in less than five minutes.
The ingredients are as follows:
2 tablespoons salad oil
1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons baker’s sugar (super fine sugar) OR substitute Splenda
The method is as follows:
In a two-quart or larger heavy-bottom sauce pan or pot, place over high heat.
Place the kernels and the salt in the pot with the oil.
Cover and give the pot an occasional shake to coat the kernels and prevent burning.
When the popping stops, immediately pour the popped corn into a large bowl and sprinkle the sugar all over, stirring with a spoon to insure all is coated lightly with the sugar.
That’s it. It’s ready to serve.
Makes about 1/2 gallon.
